Well it's 6 days in and I have a grand total of about 70 words. Oh Dear. It seems that yet again I have a mass of essays and other work that has to be in during November. I won't let that stop me though, I'm going to be ploughing my way through the word count every spare second I get... I hope.
Hope everyone elses NaNo is going better than mine!

Well, it's not long to go till it's NaNoWriMo 2007. This year I've decided to work on a plot idea before NaNo starts so I can just start writing (Rather than waste weeks working out what the hell I'm gonna spend the month writing and end up writing nothing).
So what have I managed to come up with this time? Well, I'm attempting a thriller/horror (which may not end up being either) loosely based on Little Red Riding Hood. The working title is Afraid of the Wolf and will hopefully be a dark, modern tale of werewolves for Young Adults.
Just going to finish working on the plot and Characters, hopefully I'll get further this time than I have in the past :)

Or more to the point, didn't do it again. Once again my NaNo attempt didn't get very far, about 150 words in a month, oops. Each NaNo time I seem to have 101 things happening that stop me from taking part. This year it was exams that won my time, ergh.
So, what's been happening since NaNo? Well I've been pretty busy, I now have 2 fic blogs going. It's early days but I'm enjoying them :) One of them is called The Riding Hood Diaries, and tells the story of Phoebe De'Ath. The other is The Professional Pet, the musings of Fluffy the... dog.
I seem to have blogs coming out of my ears (not literally of course because that would be painful and physichally impossible). There's a 3rd blog in progress that I am co-writing, Descended from Mushrooms - A Controversial Look at Life, Love and Everything. It'll be hosted over at blogspot so I'll let you know the link when it's up and running :)
My project Status:
Hestia Moon - On hold, was my NaNo project and I didn't actually get very far so I may just use the plot for next years NaNo.
Secrets Under Urquhart (Working Title) - Just finished writing chapter 7. Started scribbling bits for chapter eight and any random scenes that pop into my head.
The Mark of La Croix - Over at DA, not a priority, it's really just something I add to when I need to get writing.
The Squeaky Boot - On going project, hope to get a lot more added to the site in the new year!
I'll leave you with the start of :)

That time of year is fast approaching once again I have my supply of coffee and biscuits at the ready. Unfortunately this year I also have exams in November so it's going to be a pretty busy month all in all.
So... how is my NaNo plot coming along? well to be honest it wasn't! Not good, not good at all! The only things I knew about my novel were that:
1) It is a YA/youth sci-fi/fantasy novel.
2) The main character (and title) is Hestia Moon.
3) My MC is either dead or dies very early on and will be alive again
by the end.
Not a particularly promising start to NaNo '06
Now though, I am pleased to say I have a plot (of sorts), slight change to my initial idea lol Will probably be more changes before I'm done.
Title: Hestia Moon
Genre: YA/youth/fantasy/Sci-fi
Synopsis (though it may well change)
It's the year 2330 and Valla has become a modern day version of ancient Rome. Hestia Moon is a slave girl for a prominent family who worship the new gods, the rise of whom has seen the decline of technology. As she sees the effect the gods are having on the city she begins to question just who, or what the gods really are. As she gets closer to the truth she finds herself in a fight not only for her city but also her life and her search for the truth leads her to an even more startling discovery.
If anyone wants to let me know what they think, I'd be very grateful.
